Privacy Policy

What we store

• Account: your email address and a scrypt hash of your password — never the password itself.
• Telegram link (optional): your chat id and username, only after you complete the linking flow.
• Product data: your watchlist, alert and notification preferences.
• Usage events: which features you use (e.g. "asked for AAPL earnings"), with timestamps — used for the activity page and to improve the product. Bot usage mirrored to the web app is pruned after 60 days.

What we never store or do

• No card numbers — payment details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
• No selling or renting your data to anyone, ever.
• No advertising trackers. The only cookie is a single signed session cookie that keeps you logged in.

Who processes data for us

• Finnhub — market data (your ticker queries are sent to fetch quotes; no account details attached).
• Telegram — delivers bot messages; governed by Telegram's own privacy policy.
• Render — hosting; data lives on encrypted disks in their EU/US regions.
• Stripe — subscription billing from launch.
• Sentry — error reports when something crashes (a numeric user id may be attached; never your email or message content).
• Google Analytics, Meta Pixel & X Pixel — anonymous visit and signup counts on the website, so we know which pages and posts work. They use their own cookies, governed by their providers' policies; we never send them your email, watchlist or messages.

Retention & backups

Account data is kept while your account exists. Encrypted daily backups are retained privately for disaster recovery. Mirrored bot usage is pruned after 60 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data or full deletion of your account at any time — email hello@mrktbuddy.com or message the bot, and we'll complete it within 30 days. (A self-serve delete button is on the roadmap before public launch.)

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll tell you in the app or by message before the change takes effect.
